Point: Shakespeare use a wide range of powerful language in his play”Romeo and Juliet”. One of these is a metaphor.
Example: in act 1 scene 4 when Romeo agrees to go to the capulet party he says “he that hath steerage of my course/direct my sail.
Explanation: this is a metaphor that makes Romeo seem like a ship and the captain of the ship(Romeo) is God. This shows two different things, that he will go to the capulet party and the second is that he is letting fate choose his path.

This is very good and clear, Casey – you’ve shown that you genuinely understand the underlying language feature of metaphor and how it adds to our understanding of Romeo’s character.
This will be very important when we find later in the play that Romeo, even when he tries not to follow God’s path, ends up forced to do exactly what he has the premonition of here.
When you make a quotation, don’t forget to put quotation marks at both the beginning and end of it.
Righto!
