In romeo and Juliet, romeo is trying to say that Juliet is the sun, (she is bright like the sun), that is the metaphor. “But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks. It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, Who is already sick and pale with grief” In describing Juliet as the sun. Romeo is trying to suggest that the good things of being with Juliet is that she is very bright,(she is romeos source of light) and metaphorically, (she is the sun, she is warm and beautiful like the sun).

Casey,
This is by far the best piece of written analysis you’ve ever written in my class. I’m very impressed with the speed of your progress this year.
When you use a quotation in your writing (which I strongly encourage you to continue to do) you will need to always put it within quotation marks, like this: Romeo said, “Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon”, which suggests that he’s comparing Juliet to the sun…
Well done my good man,
Mr Waugh

The additions you have made are excellent. You should be very proud of this piece of analysis.
